Categories: General Date: Nov 12, 2014 Title: Winco Releases New Augustine, Patient-Focused Treatment ReclinerOcala, FL. Nov. 2014. Now available, Augustine is the newest treatment recliner from Winco Mfg., LLC and is developed to be 100% patient-centric; to be comfortable and to help put the patient at ease in any medical environment. The result is an attractive, inviting, clinically preferred recliner offering unique clinical utility in medical applications.
Winco product engineers worked with patients and caregivers, focusing on improving the patient experience. "Augustine perfectly reflects our commitment to develop meaningful products for our worldwide customers and their patients" stated Jim Ankoviak, President and CEO. He continued that "Patients reflected that often they have little control over their environment, especially when faced with life threatening disease or arduous, long treatments". The Company's goal with Augustine was to provide patients a sense of personal space, independence and control over their surroundings. This focus evolved into Augustine's larger total seating area where a patient can stretch out or curl up, with controls that are designed to be effortless for a patient to operate. Winco has packaged these features in a comfortable, infinitely adjustable recliner with design details and features of fine home furniture. Augustine represents a calming, surprisingly attractive and, above all, comfortable patient space.
While focused on the patient experience, Winco preserved the clinically required features expected of all their medical furnishings, adding innovations to enhance functionality. Winco pioneered a new removable seat for the Augustine. Requiring no tools to remove, there is no risk of lost parts and the seat is tethered securely to the chair. Once removed there is full access to all sides of the seat, insides of the arms and to the seat back for ease of thorough cleaning.
Augustine also introduces a clever new braking system to simplify movement, security and cleaning. A standard central brake in the rear makes one touch locking a reality. More exciting is the new Central Front Braking option (CFB) part of the patent-pending design. The CFB puts braking control front and center, under the chair where it is easily accessed. CFB does not add to the width of the chair or present any tripping or snagging hazard other common central locking designs can pose. Staff can tell at a glance whether or not the chair is safely locked and never have to fumble for individual caster locks.
The Augustine Treatment Recliner is a one-size-fits most-recliner, eliminating the need for multiple sizes, and reducing inventory concerns for the facility manager. The 500 Lb. weight capacity has been thoroughly tested to BIFMA industry standards for reliability and durability.
Developed in conjunction with Oncology clinics, Augustine is ideally suited for use in Infusion centers, patient rooms, recovery, and long term care settings. Augustine demonstrates Winco's commitment to developing products that meet the needs of the people that live in and touch the recliners on a daily basis.
